Joe Eagle - Old North Church Joe Eagle outside the Old North Church from which the lanterns were hung to warn of British march on Lexington and Concord -- "one if by land, two if by see" -- the church is at the end of the mall area obscured unfortunately by a lot of trees. The statue pays tribute to Paul Revere's midnight ride -- who incidentally -- never made it to Concord (he was caught by a group of British officers) -- it was actually young Dr. Prescott who made it.
