Captain Koala at the Confluence Here is Captain Koala at the Confluence. This is the exact point in southernmost Illinois where the Mississippi River meets the Ohio River. Half of all the water in the United States passes through this point. Across the rivers to the left is Kentucky, while on the right is Missouri.
