We spent time learning about the world raptor center and how they care for raptors and release them into the wild. This is Lucy, a turkey vulture that someone tried to keep as a pet. Turkey vultures have no voice boxes and are the only birds to have blue pigments in their feathers. We learned about other birds, but this one was part of the presentation.
