A very faint trail It was hard to follow the trail, but the trees were marked with yellow paint to lead the way. There was no excuse but to 'take a hike'!

Looking down the Little Plover River

These are glacial rocks in the river. We had to hop the glacial rocks in the Little Plover River to cross it. Some of these rocks come from Canada and 'who knows where' as they moved in the glacial ice. The depth of the ice was 1,000 feet deep in some places. Thus, the Ice Age trail.

This is the area where we walked on the planks. Some areas are quite boggy and 'soggy' so they placed trimmed logs and placed them in the trail to make it easier to traverse through that wet area. It adds such a rustic appeal to the trail.

Sign at the Ice Age Trailhead This is the Little Plover segment of the Ice Age Trail. The trail is about 1200 miles in length and unique to Wisconsin. It moves through the glacial country and Wisconsin and very primitive, but unique.

Hiking the Little Wolf Trail It is Autumn in Wisconsin and it was great to hike to this cache today. The leaves are starting to turn color and we should be peak in a couple of weeks. The trail was in great shape for a primitive trail.
