Here are some pictures from our New Orleans trip (Thanksgiving weekend 2005). Viewer discretion advised... nothing immoral, just reality of what the storm did. I tried to select a good cross section of the kinds of things we saw. The pictures don't do justice to the scale of what happened. Multiply what you see in each picture about 100 times, and you'll begin to get the idea.

Trash was EverywhereWhen driving around any hard hit or flooded area, there was trash piles everywhere. Up north after a big snow storm, the snow plows leave piles of snow along the sides of the street. It looked very similar in New Orleans, except the piles weren't made of snow, they were made of trash.
