This is no ordinary geocaching trading item!

TOM THE TURTLE is a Travel Bug Dog Tag Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.

If you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!

If you are willing to log your part of this Trackable's journey and place it in another geocache as soon as possible (after you log your find), grab it from this geocache.

My Current Goal:

TOM THE TURTLE'S MISSION IS TO MEET AS MANY GEO-CACHERS THROUGH-OUT THE WORLD. NEAR AND FAR. ALTHOUGH THE HARE DIDNT WIN THE RACE WITH SPEED, TOM THE TURTLE IS IN NO HURRY. TAKE YOUR TIME IN THE AREA YOU ARE SEARCHING, TAKE PICS, KEEP YOUR LOGS AND MOST OF ALL HAVE FUN.

TOM ROBINSON WAS BORN IN CHICAGO ILL.. IN 1959, HE  GREW UP IN STREATOR ILLINOIS WITH HIS 8 OTHER SIBLINGS... THROUGH OUT THE YEARS THEY ALL SEPARATED AND WENT ON THEIR OWN LIFES JOURNEY MAKING FAMILIES AND MEMORIES FOR THEMSELVES. TOM ON THE OTHER HAND WENT INTO THE MARINE CORPS JUST WHEN HE WAS 19 AND SERVED OUR COUNTRY, HE THEN FATHERED A DAUGHTER AND CONTINUED TO BE EAGER AND WILLING TO SERVE ALTHOUGH HE WAS LATER DISMISSED WITH AN HONORABLE DISCHARGE HE THEN WORKED AS A SECURITY GAURD IN A CORRECTION INSTITUTION IN LEE COUNTY KENTUCKY, YEARS LATER HE SERVED AS A DEPUTY ON THE LINCOLN COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT IN STANFORD KENTUCKY. THOMAS ROBINSON DIED JULY 4, 2010. HOW IRONIC IS IT THAT A MAN THAT BELIEVES ONCE A MARINE, ALWAYS A MARINE WOULD DIE ON SUCH AN IMPORTANT DATE. YOU WILL TRUELY BE MISSED.... THOMAS ROBINSON REPORTING FOR DUTY SIR!
