Herrschaftliches Speicherhaus von 1462/3

Unsere Tour beginnt scheinbar unspektakulär. Wir stehen im Kirchhof vor einer Häuserzeile, in der nur ein Gebäude die typische Fachwerkoptik zeigt. Unser erster Hauptdarsteller ist aber das unterkellerte schlichte Haus rechts daneben, das heute als ältester Profanbau der Stadt gilt.
Als es 1462/3 erbaut wurde, diente es als Lagerhaus, in dem Abgaben der zinspflichtigen Bevölkerung eingelagert wurden, und es war doppelt so breit wie heute - der Ostflügel wurde wegen Baufälligkeit irgendwann abgebrochen und durch das auffälligere Gebäude ersetzt, möglicherweise im 19. Jhdt., als auch der bestehende Rest als Wohnhaus ausgebaut wurde. Wie bei vielen Bauwerken, die ursprünglich nicht zur Repräsentation gedacht waren, wurde das tragende Fachwerk bereits bei der Errichtung überputzt.
Alle Häuser der Zeile wurden an eine bereits bestehende Wehrmauer der damaligen Kirchenburg angebaut (s. Bild der Rückseite u. Zeichnung von Dr. B. Jenisch, vergrößern durch Anklicken), welche oben einen Wehrgang besaß, dessen Fläche vom Innenraum der Häuser abgeht. Im neu errichteten Gebäude wurde nicht nur das Fachwerk zur Schau gestellt, sondern das obere Geschoss springt auch deutlich um die Tiefe des Wehrgangs vor.
Auf dem Weg zum zweiten Labcache beginnt westlich der Hauptstraße mit einem überputzten Fachwerkhaus der Multicache GC8VJG9, der parallel zu den Adventure labs gespielt werden kann.
Our tour starts seemingly unspectacular. We are standing in the churchyard in front of a row of houses in which only one building shows the typical half-timbered look. Our first leading actor, however, is the simple house with a basement to the right, which is probably the oldest secular building in the city.
When it was built in 1462/3, it served as a warehouse in which taxes from the population were stored, and it was twice as wide as it is today - the east wing was demolished at some point due to dilapidation and replaced by the more conspicuous building, possibly in the 19th century, when the rest of the existing building was expanded as a residential building. As with many buildings that were not originally intended for representation, the supporting framework had been plastered over from the start.
All the houses in the row were attached to an existing defensive wall of the fortress church at that time (see picture of the back side & drawing by Dr. B. Jenisch, click to enlarge), which had a defensive corridor at the top, the area of which consequently extends from the interior of the houses. In the newly constructed building, not only the half-timbered structure were on display, but the upper storey also protruded significantly by the depth of the defensive corridor.
