This is no ordinary geocaching trading item!

Marine Geocoin is a Marine Geocoin Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.

If you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!

If you are willing to log your part of this Trackable's journey and place it in another geocache as soon as possible (after you log your find), grab it from this geocache.

My Current Goal:

To travel with me to a reunion of HMM-261 (Rein), the squadron I flew with during Operation Urgent Fury (Grenada) and as as part of the Multi-National Peacekeeping Force in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983-84. This squadrom was the Marine Helicopter Squadron of the Year for its feats. Its ability to do many missions became the pattern for special operations capable squadrons. The squadron set a record for flight hours in a month, and then broke it the next month. This is a testament to the pilots and men of the squadron who kept things going at the end of a very long supply line. This coin honors those men, both living and deceased. I hope to have it 'discovered' at the reunion, and then have it serve as a challenge coin for me.
