U-69 Geocoin is a U-Boat Geocoin - WWII Serie Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.

If you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!

Dieser Coin soll mahnen gegen den Krieg im Allgemeinen, und gedenken an die Opfer der U-Bootkriege im Zweiten Weltkrieg.

Zum Hintergrund:
U69 war ein deutsches U-Boot vom Typ VII C, das in Zweiten Weltkrieg von der deutschen Kriegsmarine eingesetzt wurde.
Aufgrund seiner besonderen Bauweise konnte es länger auf See bleiben als ältere U-Boote.

Eingesetzt wurde es als Ausbildungs- und Frontboot vom 2. November 1940 bis zu seiner Versenkung am 17. Februar 1943.
