Oktober 1985 in die deutschen Kinos kam. Das Drehbuch schrieben Robert Zemeckis und Bob Gale. Der Film stellt den ersten Teil der Zurück-in-die-Zukunft-Trilogie dar. Der zweite Teil Zurück in die Zukunft II erschien 1989, der dritte Teil Zurück in die Zukunft III wurde 1990 veröffentlicht.
