This is no ordinary geocaching trading item!

SAMO Park Bug East is a Travel Bug Dog Tag Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.

Trackable ItemIf you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!

If you are willing to log your part of this Trackable's journey and place it in another geocache as soon as possible (after you log your find), grab it from this geocache.

My Current Goal:

The National Parks are an awesome way to see some of the coolest stuff that America has to offer.  Most people know about the big, famous parks like Grand Canyon and Zion, but there's much more to America's National Park System than that.  From the amazing natural grandeur of Shenandoah and Joshua Tree National Parks to the glimpses into our nation's past at places like the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park and Gettysburg National Battlefield, every park is fascinating and unique.  You can probably tell, we LOVE National Parks, and so does this travel bug!  As Los Angelenos, our "local" park - and one of our favorite hiking spots - is the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (or SAMO in National Park-speak), a beautiful and rugged wilderness right on the outskirts of America's second largest city.  This bug is starting on the East Coast and wants to head west.  And, along the way, it would love to stop near as many National Parks as possible (caching is often not permitted within the park due to the sensitivity of natural or historic areas).  Please help it along its way, and, when you log in a drop-off, please mention the closest National Park.  You can find them all at www.nps.gov.  Thanks!
