This is no ordinary geocaching trading item!

Bommel Geocoin is a Bommel Geocoin Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.

If you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!

My Current Goal:

Marten Toonder, Jan Wolkers weigerde de P.C. Hooftprijs 1989 omdat Marten Toonder deze nog niet gekregen had, nu nog niet, was zeer belangrijk voor de Nederlandse strip en literatuur. Ik geef toe dat zijn boeken iets sneller weglezen dan bv. "De Avonden" van Gerard Reve of "De Aanslag" van Harry Mulisch. Maar zijn boeken hebben ons meer nieuwe woorden, minkukel, denkraam, zielknijper, opgeleverd als het oevre van de "grote" schrijvers en ze geven ons een maatschappijkritische blik op ons Nederland en de wereld. Lees eens "De Bovenbazen" en huiver over hoe het nu nog werkt, "De andere wereld" en hoe we nu nog omgaan met vluchtelingen. Toonder wist haarfijn de vinger op de zere plek te leggen en ons een spiegel voor te houden, helaas doen we er weinig mee. Marten Toonder 1912-2005. Marten Toonder, Jan Wolkers refused the P.C. Hooftprice 1989 (important Dutch literature price) because Marten Toonder didn't receive it, was very important for the Dutch comic and literature. I admit that his books read a bit easier as "1984" by George Orwell or "War and Peace" by Tolstoi. But his books brought the Dutch language more new words, thinkspace, as the Dutch "great" writers and they give us a social critisism on the Dutch society and the world. Read his booksand see how topical they are. Toonder knew where to put a finger on it and held us a mirror, it's a pity we don't use the knowledge. Marten Toonder 1912-2005.
