Atlantis Lost Continent Geocoin - Sophie's Zweiter is a Atlantis Lost Continent Geocoin Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.

If you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!

My Current Goal:

Diesen Geocoin habe ich mit dem Rätsel Cache "Sophie's Jubi Cache" von meinem Vater zu meinem 18. Geburtstag geschenkt bekommen. Ich begleite ihn gelegentlich bei seinen Geocaching-Touren und interessiere mich auch für den Spielpaltz auf der Welt.

Atlantis

Ein Volk mit  herausragendem Wissen, fortgeschrittenen Architekturen, die mächtigste Seemacht aller Zeiten mit einem riesigen Imperium … verloren in der Tiefe der Meere. Schier spurlos verschwunden, ausgelöscht durch eine Naturkatastrophe  innerhalb eines Tages.
Die Geschichte besagt, dass der Untergang auf den Übermut, Hybris, des Gottes Atlas, der dem sagenumwobenen Volk sowie dem Atlantik den Namen gab, zurückzuführen sei. Er wollte den damaligen Stadtstaat Athen erobern um sein Imperium noch weiter zu vergrößert. Als Strafe verlor er sowohl die Schlacht, als auch sein gesamtes Volk. Atlantis ging etwa 9000 vor Christi unter.
 
Atlantis. Ein Mythos oder eine wahre Begebenheit?
Eine Frage mit der sich bereits seit Jahrhunderten Forscher aller Länder beschäftigen und die nie wirklich zu beantworten scheint. Eine Frage, nach dessen Antwort sogar schon Hitler suchte. 
Mittlerweile deuten vor allem vier Orte darauf hin, dass Atlantis dort wirklich existiert haben könnte. An diese Orte soll der Coin reisen.
Ein Foto des Coins an den jeweiligen Orten wäre wirklich fantastisch!
…vielleicht befindet er sich eines Tages ja wirklich dort, wo Atlantis einst existiert hat.

Ich denke, wo auch immer Atlantis existiert oder nicht existiert hat, das kann die  Reise unseres Coins leider auch nicht lösen. Aber vielleicht bringt sie uns doch trotzdem den Spuren der Zeit ein Wenig näher.
Und wer weiß … vielleicht stimmt ja eine der Theorien und der Coin war wirklich dort, wo früher das weit entwickelte Volk lebte.
 
Wenn mein ATLANTIS an allen Orten gewesen ist, soll er wieder nach Hause kommen, in das Dreieck Köln/ Bonn/ Euskirchen.

Atlantis.  

A nation with distinguished knowledge, advanced architectures, the biggest sea power of all ages with a giant imperium … lost in the deepness of the oceans. Lost without a trace, extinguished by a natural catastrophe during one single day.
The history says that the breakup is caused by the arrogance of the god Atlas, who gave the legendary nation and the Atlantic Ocean their names. Atlas wanted to conquer the city state Athens to increase his imperium.  As punishment he lost the battle and the whole nation. Atlantis sank 9000 years BC.
 
Atlantis. A myth or a true story?
A question which scientists from every country try to answer for hundreds of years. An answer which even Hitler tries to find.
Meantime especially four locations could really be the places where Atlantis could have existed. To these locations the geocoin should travel.
A photo of the coin at these places would be awesome!
…maybe someday he will really be at the place where Atlantis has existed.

I think wherever Atlantis existed or not existed, this cannot clear the coin either. But maybe it can bring us closer to the tracks of the time.
And who knows … maybe one of the theories is right and the coin will really be at the place where the legendary nation lived.
 
When my coin has seen to all of these places, he should  come back home to the triangle Köln/ Bonn/ Euskirchen.
