This is no ordinary geocaching trading item!
Dutch Geocoin 2007 (Antique Bronze) is a Dutch Geocoin 2007 Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.
If you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!
If you are willing to log your part of this Trackable's journey and place it in another geocache as soon as possible (after you log your find), grab it from this geocache.
My Current Goal:
The Dutch Geocoin 2007 is ontworpen worden van KarelKraak. De Dutch Geocoin 2007 is gebaseerd op Michiel De Ruyter, die in het jaar 2007 zijn "400. verjaardag" vierde.
The idea of the geocoin was born by the "Michiel de Ruyterjaar" which was announced 2007 in the Nederlands in honour to the 400th birthday of Michiel de Ruyter.
Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter (1607-1676) was a Dutch admiral. He is the most famous and one of the most skilled admirals in Dutch history, well known for his role in the Anglo-Dutch Wars of the 17th century. He fought the English and French and scored several major victories against them, the best known probably being the Raid on the Medway.
The front of the geocoin shows a portrait of Michiel de Ruyter taken from the painting by Ferdinand Bol in 1667. The backside of the geocoin shows the picture of the "zeven provinciën" ship, which was under the command of Michiel de Ruyter.
