This is no ordinary geocaching trading item!

Race to 2010 - Pack 12, Den 3 - San Mateo is a Travel Bug Dog Tag Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.

If you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!

If you are willing to log your part of this Trackable's journey and place it in another geocache as soon as possible (after you log your find), grab it from this geocache.

Help Scouts from Pacific Skyline Council, Pack 12, Den 3 in San Mateo, CA move this pinewood derby Travel Bug into as many Scout and non-Scout hands as possible. This is the first ever Nationwide Pinewood Derby race and we want to cross the finish line! Help us speed along by moving this Travel Bug. Our goal is to get this car to Ft. A.P. Virginia for the 2010 National Scout Jamboree this summer. Final coordinates will be provided.

3/24/2015 update

Thanks to all who have moved our trackable along!  Looks like the old pinewood car disappeared long ago, and if anyone wishes to exchange the big truck for a smaller vehicle (dare we ask, a pinewood derby car?), feel free.  It would certainly be easier to cart around... And place.

The boys from Den 3 are Boy Scouts now, working towards the rank of Eagle.  As their final year of scouting nears, we may ask to have the trackable make its way back to the SF Bay Area.  Until then,  we'd love to see it travel far and wide.
