Chuck Taylor, ein Basketballspieler und Schuhverkäufer, verbesserte das Design und machte Werbung für die Schuhe.

They were first produced as basketball shoes in 1917. Chuck Taylor, a basketball player and shoe salesman, improved the design and advertised the shoes.
