To remind me of good firends, good times, good geocaching...and one particularly insane day! Not the same insanity that 1000 brought. Although, we did run into a couple DNFs right when we were hoping to wrap up the day, but not nearly as many!
Started with a beautiful climb through a gorgeous gorge, filled with waterfalls frozen solid from the cold, korean air. Trails less travelled, covered with fresh snow meant bushwhacking up and over and through to get there.
One of the oldest caches in korea.
We ended up climbing 3 more peaks that day. Up 60° inclines covered in snow and ice, using provided ropes to help insure we didn't descend when we didn't want to. Up and over and through...an actual trail this time. Well, after we bushwhacked a second time because a trail sign went unnoticed or was once again covered in snow.... Descendind via ropes and metal rungs on 80° slopes in places and 5' switchbacks that seemed to carry on forever!
Excellent chicken dinner and home.
Great day? Epic day.
Thanks Corey (crazedllama) for sharing this and all other days. Definitely have stories that will be told for ages!
Mission accomplished!
