This is no ordinary geocaching trading item!

Firefly is a Cachekinz Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.

If you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!

If you are willing to log your part of this Trackable's journey and place it in another geocache as soon as possible (after you log your find), grab it from this geocache.

My Current Goal:

This firefly (or lightning bug, as we called them when I was a kid) is happy to travel anywhere you want to take it. If you bring it to any night caches, tell me about it. Maybe it will help light the way! :)   Update: I hadn't dropped this little guy in a cache yet, and then I decided to go to an event here in NY where a cacher is going to take some TBs to Maine to drop them off. That, combined with having finally gotten around to reading A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson, got me thinking it'd be fun to see if this firefly could visit all the states that the Appalachian Trail passes through: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia.

Progress Report as of September 30, 2019: Firefly has visited 4 of the Appalachian Trail states so far! (Maine, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania)
