This is no ordinary geocaching trading item!

Zips - Blue & Gold - Path Tag Mailer is a GeoGem Travel Bug, traveling from geocache to geocache on a very specific mission.

Trackable ItemIf you do not intend to log your visit on the Geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE THIS ITEM. Its travels and its progress requires you to log that it is being taken from this geocache. You will also need to log when you place it in another geocache. It's easy!

If you are willing to log your part of this Trackable's journey and place it in another geocache as soon as possible (after you log your find), grab it from this geocache.

My Current Goal:

To be discovered, grabbed and rack up miles is really this gem's secondary mission.

Its first mission is to allow me to put in words my (kinda) blues and on the other end of the spectrum, my joy.

The Blue & Gold Geo Gem to mark the day my son and first born, eSpeedRacer, moved out of the house and the state of Florida to attend the University of Akron on a full ride Football Scholarship.  He is my precious baby, first born gem of a boy, and more recently, 2014-15 Pinellas All Star Offensive Tackle Lineman.  Where the heck did the time go?

At 6 foot 5 inches and 310 pounds of muscled Offensive Takcle, I guess "boy" no longer works.

I know I should be happy. And I am. For him.  A new chapter starts for him, while one closes for me. My heart is sad that he left and I can't wait for his returns.

I know this is good for him, and is the start of something big for him, something he has been working and training for since he was 12 years old and something he dreamed about way before that.  And something he hopes and works to extend beyond college years.  This is normal and how it is supposed to be.

I do feel joy in his success that makes my heart shine Gold.  More so each day.

July 2016, my son has completed his first year of college, and the Zips WON their first championship!  Congratulations to the team, what a wonderful experience for them!  They worked so hard.

July 2017, my son has completed his second year of college, he has changed his major a couple times, and is now working on a Sports Management degree, a far cry from the Engineering major he started on.  He does not come home as frequently as he did the first year away, but that is understandable.  He is dating a very nice and sweet Biology major he met on his offical visit back in 2015, she is a senoir now and plays on the Women's Basketball Team.  As long as he is happy, the mom is happy too.  The Zips had a rough 2015-16 season, plagued by injuries, but they never give up!

November 2017, During the 2017-18 season, The Zips struggled with more injuries and issues.  Through perseverance and hard work throughout the season they came out and won, for the first time in 10 years, against Miami, Ohio!  Then went on to win the big match against long time rivalry Kent State and kept possession of the coveted Wagon Wheel!  This game cements the Zips in their quest for a Bowl match and they are now MAC East Champs and will be heading to Detroit for the Mid-America Conference Championship Title Game!  First time ever for the Zips!!!  Go Team Zips!! Awesome job players and Bowden Coaching Staff!
