Geocachers become volunteers based on a need in the local area or language, as well as their geocaching skills. Volunteers are typically people who have a high-level of geocaching experience, a positive reputation within the community, strong communication skills, and a good understanding of the cache listing guidelines. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and there is a need in your region, you may be nominated by another volunteer.
Most volunteers create a new username to separate their volunteer role from their player account. So do not be surprised if it appears your Reviewer or Moderator has found few or no caches.
Aside from being active geocachers, volunteers spend a lot of their free time serving the global geocaching community. In return, we ask that community members be respectful of their time and the important role that they play. The game would not be the same without their dedication, guidance, and commitment to geocaching.
