Geocache Description:

The cache is not located at the given co-ordinates (naturally) ;-)

With the weather deteriorating at time of placing we thought it'd be a great idea to have a puzzle cache for which you can do all the work indoors in the warm, as to solve the puzzle you will need to make use of Google Street view, visiting locations virtually rather than actually going there.

Finally, a quick non-virtual pop out to the final location, which is buggy and wheelchair friendly, and you should be able to drive right up to the cache (park off-road for safety)

THE PUZZLE:

Right, position yourselves at the bogus co-ords 'virtually' and start heading east, on the left hand side of the road, as if you were driving. You’ll arrive at a set of bus stops on your left with billboards attached. The first billboard you pass mentions a number of years. How many? (Sum of digits = A)

Continue on and you will reach a pedestrian crossing. How many pedestrians are standing on the central island, waiting to cross in front of you? (Remember you need to be on the left hand side of the road as if you were driving). Answer = B

You might notice you’re following a learner driver in a primary-coloured car. How many letters are in the name of the colour? Answer = C

Continue to the next roundabout and take the Ath exit. You’ll be behind a bus. As you proceed you’ll find yourself eventually overtaking the bus, when you’ll catch sight of its number. D = sum of digits.

The same bus has an advert on it mentioning a month. Which? (January = 1, February = 2 etc) (Answer = E)

Continue on and head left at the next junction. On your left you’ll see a phone number in red writing on a white background. (You’ll see it a couple of times) F = number of 7s in the phone number.

Turn right at the next junction. As you pass a brown-bricked building on your left you’ll draw level with a sign with three numerals on it. G = the middle one.

Keep going and find the next bus stop after that on your left. H = number of people standing at it.

Keep going and go straight over the next junction. Just after the junction, there is a pub on the right. You can see a word beginning with R and a date. JK = the day of the month. L = number of letters in the word (in plural form).

Continue until you see a white-fronted premises with red writing. How many wheelie bins are along the frontage? Answer = M.

Right, stop there. The cache is located absolutely nowhere near where you ended up, but can be found at:

N 52° (G-A)F.CA(K-J) W 000° (L-M)(D-F).E(C+F)(B+H)

We've called this cache "GSV 1" as we may extend this series elsewhere in Peterborough and the towns and villages around and abouts, we'll see how it goes.

You're looking for a small tin that's realistically not big enough to hold swaps or TBs, unless they're small. Oh, and bring your own pen.

Important note 5/10/14: As of writing, the images were photographed on July 2014 (see the image date in the top left corner). As you are solving this puzzle, if you notice the date is more recent than that, then it may mean the images have been re-photographed. Please email us through our profile in that event and will make any adjustments. Thanks.
