Part of the Gaps series - an easy find.
It's getting hard to find spots to plant caches around inner Canberra, but there are still a few gaps. This is the first cache in a series planned to fill those gaps - small, relatively easy finds, placed wherever I see a gap to showcase the gem locations that otherwise go unnoticed in this beautiful city.
==The Area==
Lonsdale St. Braddon is where it's all happening, outside of the city centre. Cafés, restaurants and bars, a multitude of bike shops, takeaways, a pleasant park, even fashion, furniture and homewares - it's all here. Add in a constant pedestrian throng (and the seemingly endless roadworks) and Lonsdale St. is a buzzing, happening place.
It's changed a lot in the last few years, seeing a kind of gentrification. Lonsdale used to be where all the car dealerships were, but they've all up and moved to other locales. Buildings are being knocked down to be replaced with combined apartments/shopping plazas. Watch Braddon closely - it will change even more rapidly in the near future.
There's plenty of parking on Lonsdale St... it's just snagging a spot that's difficult. As mentioned above there's plenty of places to buy food, and there are picnic tables in the park at the northern end of the street.
