This is one of six frog brothers that lives in the Austin, TX area. Violet Frog is one of the four smaller-sized brothers and he is actually the baby of the bunch. Because of this, he was always spoiled as a child and grew up to be very haughty and demanding. He actually came to think he was royalty and has proclaimed himself to be a king!!! Violet Frog claims to rule over all that he can see, and his friends in the forest humor him and they even helped him build a little throne of rocks near his hiding space. Please don't let Violet Frog down...when you see him, place him on his rock throne and kneel before him before checking out his treasure contents.
Feel free to upload pictures of yourself bowing down before Violet Frog on his little throne...so you can always remember having been in the presence of his greatness! Also, Violet Frog...in his benevolence...grants you an extra smiley for this (log the find a second time to upload the pic)!
Violet Frog often likes to sit on his little throne and laugh at the unaware muggles that pass by on the nearby trail.
Stealth may be a factor if the trails are heavy with muggles of the jogging and/or dog-walking variety. Wading may be required if water levels rise...or hiking a steeper trail. Terrain rating reflects this potential condition.
FUN FROG FACTS (from www.kidzone.ws): Frogs belong to a group of animals called amphibians. (am-fib-ee-anz). Amphibian means two-lives. Frogs begin their lives in the water as eggs and then tadpoles and when they are fully developed they live on land. Frogs are cold-blooded which means that their bodies are the same temperature as the air or water around them. When they are cold they will lay in the sun to warm up and when they get too warm they will go into the water to cool their bodies off. Did you know that a group of frogs is called an ‘army’? (A group of toads is called a ‘knot’.) Frogs don’t drink water they absorb it through their skin.
