NCSSM Multi-cache Series Puzzle #12
This is the final cache in a series of puzzle caches dedicated to the North Carolina School of Science and Math located in Durham, NC. There are eleven preliminary caches leading up to this final cache. Each represents a class a student at the NCSSM may take, and a potential question that may (or may not) appear on a test given at that school. Links to all twelve caches can be found at the bottom of this listing. For each preliminary cache you find, you will earn access to a jigsaw puzzle piece which will be used to help solve this final. Note that each preliminary cache can be found independently, however you will need to find all of them in order to solve the final.
NOTE: The Cache is NOT at the Above Coordinates!
None of the caches are on school grounds but are located within 2 miles of the above location. Some of the caches are located on park property and others on public property. Please do not trespass on private property when accessing any of the caches. Note that you may need tweezers to obtain the logs for a number of these caches.

Puzzle For The Geocache Coordinates: History
This is the final of the North Carolina School of Science and Math cache series. Follow the steps below to obtain this cache:
Step 1
Once you have solved all of the previous NCSSM caches, print out the puzzle pieces and put them together to form the shape below.
Step 2
Using the pictures as clues, answer the following:
AA = The last two digits of the year in which A's influential paper was presented.
B = Number of scientific laws attributed to B.
CC = Last two digits of the year in which the event shown in C occurred.
D = Third digit of the year in which the institution in D was founded.
E = Last digit of the year in which the event shown in E occurred.
F = Number of elements discovered by F.
G = Fourth digit of the year in which G completed his/her doctoral thesis.
HH = First two digits of the year in which H was born.
II = Last two digits of the year in which I earned the Nobel Prize.
JJ = First two digits of the year in which J's book was first published.
K = Number of digits in the name of the behemoth shown in K.
Step 3
Do the math. Round to the nearest thousandth.
XX.XXX = (((AA + CC) * D) + (46 * F) + B) / (E * G * 200)
YY.YYY = (HH * II + JJ * K) / 12.2589

Go find the geocache. It is just a tad over 2 miles from the virtual in a location all students from this school should aspire to. Granted, it may not be to this particular institution, but it should be to some place similar.

- FTF - For the first person or team that finds the cache, a $25 gift card to a local restaurant in Durham will be rewarded. This is included in the cache.
- Student FTF - The first current NCSSM student or team that finds the cache will receive gift cards to both a local restaurant AND a local dessert establishment. Note that these are not included in the cache. To claim these prizes, indicate in your log that you are an NCSSM student and I will provide you with the name of the school representative who has your cards. Please do not put your name in the log -- you will be identified to the school representative based on your geocache id.
