Der Reißkofel liegt am Gailtaler Höhenweg, wenn man diesen wählt muss der Gipfel überschritten werden.
Ansonsten gibt es einen sehr langen Anstieg ausgehend vom Reißkofelbad nach Welzberg, weiter über Köpfach und Plattach auf den Gipfel und am besten über die Jochalm retour.
Ein etwas kürzerer Anstieg (der sich aber beliebig ab Bhf. Gundersheim verlängern lässt) ist von der Jochalm über den Kleinen Reißkofel oder über den Hochfleck (teilweise versicherter Steig).
Der Padiaursteig von der Comptonhütte führt ebenfalls auf den Gipfel. Die Hütte kann von Weißbriach, dem Kreuzberg oder aus dem Drautal erreicht werden.

Reißkofel is a mountain which is 2371 m high and it is situated in the Gailtaler Alps. The summit is quite difficult to reach, you should have a good head for heights because you have to do some climbing on rocks. You have nice scenery on top of the mountain into the Gail and Drau valley.
Reißkofel is situated at the Gailtaler Höhenweg, a long path along the ridge.
You can take the ascent from Reißkofelbad via Welzberg to the summit or you start at Jochalm and walk to Kleiner Reißkofel oder to Hochalpl which is a Via Ferrata. You can also walk to Comptonhütte and then take the Padiaursteig to the summit.
