Geocache Description:

One of three library sponsored multi-stage puzzle caches. This geocache requires transportation to travel between library locations.

This is one of three multi-stage, puzzle geocache sponsored by Deschutes Public Library. You will have to solve three puzzles to find the physical cache, which will take you on a tour of two of Deschutes Public Library's branches.

The listed coordinates will lead you close to the front door of one our libraries. Before you enter the library, locate the dedication plaque just outside. What year was the building dedicated? Add 988 to that number.

Now you have solved for "XXXX" in the following coordinates: 44.XXXX51

Now enter the building. Locate a memorial for Jessie Hill, who taught in this building before it was a library. How old was Jessie Hill when she died? Subtract 35 from that number.

You have now solved for "YY" in the below coordinates: 121.54YY89

Hint: When using Google Maps enter the coordinates as follows: 44.XXXX51,-121.54YY89

Use the new coordinates to take you close to the front door of a similar building. Enter the building and locate a book to find the cache. The book is entitled THE LAST FLIGHT OF THE SCARLET MACAW. This is your clue: Dewey Decimal System Call #333.958 BARCOTT (in the NONFICTION section).
