Geocache Description:

Anderson Park District Website
This cache is part of the APD GeoTrail!

Anderson Park District introduces the APD GeoTrail (launched Fall 2015) offering a trail of caches throughout eight of our parks. This trail is an excellent way to get outside and visit all of our beautiful parks throughout the township. Upon completion, you will have the opportunity to purchase one of our custom Geocoins. Happy Caching!

Juilfs Park
Located at 8249 Clough Pike, Juilfs Park is one of our most beloved parks. The Juilfs Foundation, through its generous gifts, has made this 26-acre park the crown jewel of the APD. Children can live their dreams on the playground or exercise their imagination on a tricycle track complete with pretend gas pumps. A popular .9 mile hike/bike trail winds around the park’s perimeter. Within its bounds reside two sand volleyball courts, a basketball court, three competition level ball diamonds, seasonal soccer fields and three tennis courts. Sprinkled throughout the park are picnic tables with grills and two shelters; one includes a working fireplace.

History of Juilfs Park
Juilfs Park is the product of two parcels. In 1980, the south eight acres were donated by Elizabeth Juilfs. The remaining 18 acres were purchased from the Juilfs Foundation in 1983. The Juilfs Foundation continues to provide significant annual donations to this park’s development. The grand opening was on July 19, 1986. The Park District Office is located in the former Juilfs Family Residence in Juilfs Park. For more information go to: Juilfs Park
