Geocache Description:

The First Cruz Commandos Puzzle Cache. Cache NOT at posted coordintes. Cache is within 1.5 miles of posted coordinates. After a quick check, I discovered that there are very few puzzle caches in Santa Cruz. Now there is one more… Since Puzzle caches seem somewhat rare in this area ... if you have a question about this puzzle, feel free to e-mail me ...

Sgt Stitches entered the barracks to find Cpl Coconut laying on his bunk. “Corporal! What are you doing laying on your bunk! Get off that bunk then drop and give me twenty!”

“Sergeant, I have a bad ear infection and its making me dizzy,” moaned Cpl Coconut “The medic told me to stay on my bunk today.”

“Told you to take it easy did he? OK Cpl Coconut, you’ve just volunteered for administrative duty. Lt Happy Camper wants another cache placed right away. Here are the coordinates. I want you to type these up and get them ready for distribution to our recon patrols. Pronto! Step to it! And be sure to destroy the original after you’ve typed it up”.

“Yes Sergeant!” Cpl Coconut shouted as he jumped up from his bunk. Cpl Coconut ran dizzily down the aisle towards the office at the back of the barracks. As he ran, he leaned to the left and hit a bunk. He continued to lean toward the left as he ran through the office doorway, colliding heavily with the door-frame. Five minutes later, Cpl Coconut ran back down the aisle, waving a piece of paper in his hand.

“Here you go Sergeant!” Just as he reached Sgt Stitches, Corporal Coconut ran headlong into one of the bunks. Cpl Coconut’s head whipped back and he crashed to the floor, out cold.

Sgt Stitches reached for the paper still clasped in Cpl Coconut’s hand. Slowly he read…

Just then, Lt Happy Camper walked into the barracks. “What have you got there, Sergeant?” she asked.

“ Uh…. theses are the coordinates you gave me for the new cache sir”

“Those don’t look like the coordinates I gave you”

“Well, you see sir…. I…. That is….. uh… I had Cpl Coconut type them up ... and he.. ah…. he … wasn’t feeling too well…”

“Yes, I know the corporal wasn’t feeling well. Didn’t he tell you he was supposed to stay in his bunk?”

“Yes sir, he told me the medic ordered him to stay in bed, but I didn’t think that would keep him from administrative duty! I didn’t think he’d be able to screw up something so simple! All he had to do was type up the coordinates!”

“That’s precisely why I told the medic to keep Cpl Coconut in his bunk today! I didn’t want the Corporal working on anything as important as the new cache location while he was not at 100%. Luckily, I know all about his ear infection, so I think I can decode this gobbley gook and get the coordinates back. So while I’m decoding this mess…. Drop and give me twenty!”
