This is the first part in the series of caches along the Rapids Route of Lempäälä. All of Rapids Route caches have been placed so that you can reach them also by boat or canoe. Unfortunately many of the Rapids Route caches have been archived later on.
The symbol of Lempäälä, the canal, is connecting lakes Pyhäjärvi and Vanajavesi. The construction of the canal was completed in 1873. Today it is 1275 meters long and the difference between the levels of the waters is nearly two meters. The number of boats which enter the lock yearly is almost 3000.
The location of the box is not very visible but you can access the box quite easily.
Snow is not a big problem here.
Tämä on ensimmäinen osa sarjassa kätköjä, jotka ryhmä geokätkijöitä on kätkenyt Lempäälän Koskireitin varrelle. Kaikki nämä kätköt on sijoitettu siten, että ne voi saavuttaa helposti myös veneellä tai kanootilla. Valitettavasti monet näistä Koskireitin kätköistä on jo arkistoitu.
Lempäälän tunnus, kanava, yhdistää Pyhäjärven ja Vanajaveden toisiinsa. Kanava valmistui vuonna 1873. Nykyään sen pituus on 1275 metriä ja vedenpintojen korkeusero melkein kaksi metriä. Vuosittain kanavan läpi kulkee lähes 3000 venettä.
Purkki ei ole sijoitettu kovinkaan näkyviin, mutta sen saa esille kohtuullisen helposti.
Vastuuntuntoinen etsijä säilyttää kätkön ja ympäristön ennallaan eikä sotke paikkaa.
Lumi ei ole täällä suuri ongelma.
