Geocache Description:

No, this cache is not in the LDS Family History Library. Do not look for it at the posted coordinates please. Although you might begin from studying its archives if you seriously intend to solve the puzzle below.

This geocaching affliction which you presently experience ... Is it inherited? Can we identify the genetic predisposition factors? Who of your ancestors may have passed it to you? You may be up to a mind-boggling genealogy / family traits study, perhaps not only of your own family but also of the others suffering from the same malaise.
Luckily, genetic epidemiologists at the U have already made great strides in identifying the hereditary causes of the Grave Early-Onset Caching Addiction / Caching Hyperactivity (GEOCACH) disorder. The grad students and the lab techs have spent untold hours processing samples, and their automated sequencing machines have duly spat out thousands of snippets of DNA sequences. If they could only put this puzzle together, they'd home in on the gene right away. Unfortunately, one of these lowly sequence chromatograms was kind of short, and the peaks weren't really pure, too:

What's worse, in contained some ambiguous calls, and overall, it yielded miserable Phred quality scores. So the team excluded this particular chromatogram from analysis. Big Mistake!
Correct it, and you'll learn who you inherited it from.
The cache is in a pint-sized brown bottle with 2 inch lid, so big items aren't gonna fit. It originally contained:
  • The Hook Cach-U-Nut (are you hooked on caching?)
  • A film canister with a West coordinate clue for the FLOATER mystery cache (a puzzle inside a puzzle!)
  • coins, pens, and logbook.
The satellite reception wasn't very good when I hid it, although all the averaged waypoints were very close to one another. But with the hint below, it is impossible to miss. I'll also post a close-up photo of the hiding place soon.
