Geocache Description:

Dates: October 13, 14 2007 Location: Oologah Lake, Hawthorne Bluff Camping sites. Official starting time TBA.

Oologah Lake is a key unit in the main control plan for flood control and navigation in the Verdigris and Arkansas River Basins.
Location: Oklahoma's Green Country, 30 miles northeast of Tulsa on 169, then 3 miles east on 88... (From Claremore, follow Hwy 88 North 8 miles.)
Facilities: Marina services, boat ramps, docks, 142 campsites with electricity, 11 Parks, picnicking and group picnic shelter Featuring: Approximately 29,500 surface acres of water; 209 miles of shoreline; 18 mile equestrian and hiking trails including Will Rogers Centennial Trail and Skull Hollow Nature Trail; Great Fishing for catfish, sand bass, large mouth bass, striped bass, crappie, and walleye; Skiing, Canoeing, Boating and Sailing; Hunting during season; Designated Swimming Beaches

Dates: October 13, 14 2007 Location: Oologah Lake, Hawthorne Bluff Camping sites.
Grab your tents or hitch up your travel trailer and join us for a weekend of friends, fun, food, and geocaching. Come for the day or stay all weekend! (Options abound for the camping resistant.) We’ll have something for everybody: whether you want to power-cache your way through the weekend or just sit around the campfire and swap stories. All ages welcome. No GPS is required to attend the event.

For a fee meals will be provided. Fees cover three meals (Sat supper, Sun bkfst and Sun lunch).

After September 28, fees are non-refundable.
* $24 each for adults (ages 13 and up) * age 7-12 = $16.00, * ages 6 and under = $10.00.
Discount fees before September 28th; adults = $20.00, ages 7 - 12 = $12.00, ages 6 and under = $6.00.
A sack lunch will be available for Sat lunch - MUST BE PRE-ORDERED $5 each.
Pre-registration is extremely encouraged to allow us to give the caterers an accurate count.
Pre-registration: check or money order only. Do not mail cash. Out of state - money order only. Paying at the event - cash only.

EACH PARTICIPANT MUST COMPLETE AN INDIVIDUAL RELEASE FORM.

Activities include:
* Hide and seek: Use your imagination to create the best cache. Hide it and they will seek.
Click the links to Sign up , Cache Page and Hide Area Map. They will also be available at registration.

* Accuracy contest: How close can you come to the zero point? Test your units’ accuracy against the other brands.

* Test Your Skills II: Diverse hides of all sizes, shapes, and difficulty along a trail system; just how good are you?

* BBQ cook off: (A Separate Event!) Bring your best BBQ recipe and have it judged by the group. (As long as it has BBQ sauce in it or on it, it is eligible to be judged.)

* Childs Game: Fun for the younger cachers and the young at heart. Our main objective is to have a great time and maybe find a few caches and make some new friends.

NOTE: Please remember this is Corps property and they have very specific regulations regarding permanent caches. We request that you refrain from placing permanent caches in the Hawthorne Bluff area prior to the event.
