Requirements:
1. You must physically sign-in on the following 6 animal tracking caches.
Bear Tracking, Mountain Lion Tracking, Bobcat Tracking, Wolf Tracking, Jaguar Tracking, & Coati Tracking.
2. You must get the number on the bottom of the top cover or in the log book of each tracking cache.
3. Use the information below to figure out the coordinates for the Wildlife Linkages Tracking Challenge:
Cache is at N 31 2A.EB5 W 111 FC.G5C
A is in the Bear Tracking cache
B is in the Bobcat Tracking cache
C is in the Coati Tracking cache
D is in the Jaguar Tracking cache
E is in the Cougar Tracking cache
F is in the Wolf Tracking cache
G = D + 2
Paved road to within a few hundred feet of the cache.
Be sure to go through a gate east of the cache, no need to go over a fence.
A car might be able to drive on the dirt road, after the gate, very close to the cache or you can go through the gate
(don’t forget to close the gate), park and walk a couple hundred feet to the cache.
There is a paper in the cache that can be used to distinguish the difference between a feline track and a canine track.
Please take one paper.
In the Linkages Program, trained tracking citizen scientists are assigned a transect (wash) and
walk the transect looking for the 6 focal species (6 animals listed above) for tracks.
