Wildlife Linkages Program, run by Sky Island Alliance, looks for routes Cougars, Bobcats, Bears, Wolves, Jaguars, and Coatis take when they go from one mountain range to another. The mountain ranges are linked by the routes these animals take. The routes (linkages) are found by looking for the animals' tracks in washes between the mountain ranges. Read more at: Sky Island Alliance http://www.skyislandalliance.org/wildlife.htm.
At Sky Island Alliance, we go out and identify animal tracks, we don’t track the animal.

Bobcat Info
Size – Bobcats usually weigh 16 to 20 pounds.
Range (where they live) – Bobcats live in Canada, United States, and northern Mexico.
Food (diet) – Bobcats live on small animals like rabbits, foxes, squirrels, birds, fish, skunks and insects.
Population (how many are there?) – Between 700,00 and 1,500,000.
The population depends on the population of pray (what it eats), the more rabbits, the more Bobcats.
Life span (how long do they live?) – Bobcats live about 6 to 8 years.
Other information – Bobcat’s tails are 4 to 7 inches long and are bobbed (short or stubby tail) which is where it got its name.
The Bobcat looks similar to the Canadian lynx and is the most common wild cat in North America.
Bobcats raise their young in hallow log, fallen tree, rock shelter and in caves.

Claws very rarely show.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Bobcat Track

It is hard to see the details of the track.
The track is round, has 4 toes, it is the correct size for a Bobcat, and the plantar pad is large compared to a canine.
