A Cápsula do Tempo, parte I.
Bem-vindo a uma das maiores caches do mundo! A sério, é enorme.
Conte com uma barrica de plástico azul de 50 litros!
O objectivo desta cache não é trocar uma prenda por outra, mas
sim gozar as prendas deixadas anteriormente.
Peço que tragam um jornal com uma notícia que tenha marcado uma
época, uma fotografia antiga ou recente, um pedaço de tecido com um
padrão particularmente horroroso que só se tenha usado num
determinada época (no estilo psicadélico do fim dos anos 60), um
calendário ou qualquer outro objecto que se possa identificar com
uma determinada época. Por vezes são as coisas mais simples que
deixam maiores recordações. Aqueles pequenos objectos que agora
nada nos dizem, mas que daqui a uns anos nos recordam os "bons
velhos tempos". Vai ser como percorrer as gavetas lá de casa que
quase nunca são abertas!
Geralmente as cápsulas do tempo são cheias uma vez, enterradas e só
voltam a ver a luz do dia passados alguns anos. Neste caso trata-se
de uma cápsula do tempo dinâmica, que vai crescendo à medida que é
visitada.
Escolhi um recanto sossegado, perto de Loulé, para que possam
percorrer os vários objectos e apreciar a evolução do mundo.
É particularmente importante que deixem os objectos dentro da
caches guardados em embalagens herméticas. Apesar da barrica azul
ser estanque nada impede que uma das peças trazida tenha ovos de um
qualquer insecto (no caso dos jornais é muito frequente, devido ao
tempo que o papel passa armazenado) que depois faça da cache um
banquete. Se as peças estiverem isoladas apenas nos arriscamos a
perder uma de cada vez e não deparar com um barril cheio de
poeira.
Aconselho vivamente a subirem até ao marco geodésico que fica a
cerca de 300 metros da cache!

The Time Capsule, part I.
Welcome to one of the world’s biggest caches! Really, its huge!
Count on finding a 50 liter blue plastic keg.
The goal of this cache isn’t to Exchange gifts, but to enjoy the
gifts left previously.
I ask that you bring a newspaper with a news that somehow marked a
period of time, an old or recent photograph, a piece of cloth with
a pattern that was used only on a certain time (like the late 60’s
psychedelic style), a calendar or any other object that you can
link to a certain period of time. Sometimes the simplest things are
the ones that leave the best memories. Those little objects that
today mean nothing, but a few years from now they will remind us of
the “good old days”. It will be like going trough the drawers that
we never open in our house.
Usually, time capsules are placed and dug up after a few years.
This one will be alive; it will grow by each visitor, and become
more interesting year after year.
I chose a quiet spot, near Loulé, so that you can take your time
going through the capsule.
Its very, very important that you leave every object inside an
airtight bag or canister. Although the keg itself is watertight,
some of the objects left might have some insect’s eggs (newspapers
usually suffer from this, since the paper is stored a long time
before it is printed) that, once hatched, make a feast of the
cache. If the pieces are isolated, we only risk loosing one at a
time, instead of finding a keg full of dust.0
I advise you to go up to the beacon, it’s only 300 meters away
from the cache!
