Da sie an Heiligabend 2006 wieder aufgetaucht ist, ist die 29. von Georg Wilhelms Kanonenkugeln wohl zur Weihnachtskugel mutiert.
Diesen Cache kannst Du ganz nach Deinem Geschmack als kurzen Spaziergang absolvieren oder mit einem Rundweg von 3 km länge verbinden, der einen wunderbaren Blick auf Bayreuth bietet.
Wenn Du kurzen Weg wählst, parke in der Spessartstraße und nimm den malerischen Pfad entlang des Bühlerbaches bis ins Zielgebiet.
Mit dem ÖPNV fährt man mit der Linie 7 bis zur Haltestelle Wunaustraße und geht dann über die Parkplatzkoordinaten zum Cache.
Wenn Du den Panoramaweg gehen willst, kannst Du im Wohngebiet am Hühlweg parken bzw. mit der Linie 7 bis zur Haltestelle Rollwenzelei fahren. Der Einstieg in den Spaziergang ist als Wegpunkt gekennzeichnet - folge hier einfach der Beschilderung Panoramaweg. Bei dem historischen Gebäude auf der anderen Straßenseite am Einstieg handelt es sich übrigens um das ehemalige Gasthaus Rollwenzelei, in dem sich der Dichter Jean Paul gerne gerne aufhielt. Eine Besichtigung der berühmten Jean-Paul-Stube ist jedoch nur nach Vereinbarung möglich.
Folge nun dem Panoramaweg hinauf auf den Eichelberg und genieße den tollen Ausblick auf Bayreuth. Auch das Richard-Wagner-Festspielhaus ist von hier aus zu sehen. Auf dem Gipfel des Eichelbergs befindet sich der Trinkwasswerhochbehälter für Bayreuth. Kurz darauf biegst Du nach links in die Lettenstraße ein. Nach 500 m geht es erneut nach links zum Gut Grunau. Hier verbrachte der Physiker Emil Warburg seine letzen Lebenjahre.
Am Beginn der schönen Grunauer Allee kannst Du den Abstecher zum Cache machen. Anschließend gehe die Allee einfach weiter, um zum Ausgangspunkt zurückzukommen.

The 29th of Georg Wilhelms Kanonenkugeln seems to have mutated to a christmas tree ball, because it reappeared on christmas eve 2006.
It's your choice to do this cache either as a drive in, or to take a circular route of 3 km that rewards you with a wonderful scenic view of the city of Bayreuth.
If you want to do the drive in cache, park your car in the Spessartstraße and follow the small but picturesque path along the stream to the cache.
Using pulic transportation, take bus number 7, get off at Wunaustraße and walk first to the drive in parking location, from there to the cache.
If you want to do the scenic route (Panoramaweg in German), you my park your car at the Hühlweg or take bus number 7 and get off at Rollwenzelei. From the Trailhead just follow the sign Panoramaweg from here. By the way, the historic building you can see across the street at the trailhead is the former tavern Rollwenzelei, where the poet Jean Paul liked to stay. Visiting Jean Paul's Room there is possible only with an appointment.
Follow the Panoramaweg upwards the Eichelberg hill and enjoy the great view on Bayreuth. Even the Richard-Wagner-Festspielhaus can be seen from here. On top of the Eichelberg you will see the fresh water reservoir for Bayreuth. Nearby you have to turn left into Lettenstraße. After 500 m you turn left again towards Gut Grunau, where the physicist Emil Warburg spent the last years of his life.
At the start of the beautiful Grunauer Allee avenue, take a detour to the cache koordinates. Afterwards, just continue on the avenue to return to the trailhead.
