For the benefit of the chacher who recently posted a DNF. I will check to see if it is there. If it is missing I will not be replacing it but if it is there I will leave it for you to find if you wish to clear up your DNF. Let me know.

Geocache Description:

A "supply station" (SS) cache is a variation of the "gas saver." It is located near the parking area for other caches, but it offers practical aid for those who may be short on needed supplies. The idea is to place an SS cache in the midst of a large cluster of caches or at the start of a particularly lengthy multi, as these are the spots where such a cache might be most useful.

What is a Supply Station?

If you happened to arrive at the parking lot with low batteries or unaware you were missing a critical item, or if you simply made an unplanned trip to the area, you can count on the SS cache to provide you with the basic tools you will need to find all nearby caches. At a minimum an SS cache provides pens, batteries, a flashlight, trail maps, and cache information for all nearby caches.

Here is how it works

If you need a pen - take one, it's on the house.
If you need batteries - take two and leave two dollars behind.
If you need a flashlight - take one and return it when you are done.
If you need a trail map - take one, it's on the house.

If you need coordinates for a nearby cache or other cache page information, use the sheet in the supply station, but do not take it. It's not practical to keep multiple copies of every cache page in the supply station, so record the information you are looking for and return the sheet to the container.

Please keep in mind a Supply Station is not a general store it is an emergency outpost and the supplies it contains should only be used in unexpected circumstances.

Here is how we will keep it stocked

All cachers entering the area should take responsibility for keeping each supply station stocked. Bring fresh batteries if you think of it and exchange them for the money left behind by someone else. If someone else reports a low supply of pens or trail maps or damaged cache pages, bring what is needed when you come.

If cachers post notes apprising others of what they have taken and what is left, and everyone does their part to replenish the container, the SS cache will be ready to help when needed.

The Callahan North Supply Station:

You can park in the Broadmeadow Road parking lot if you are planning to hike the area or if you are just making a trip to this cache, you can literally drive to within about 20 feet of it.

This supply station was originally stocked with a log book, eight pens, six Duracell AA batteries, two flashlights, 20 trail maps of the north section of Callahan Park, and two sets of a condensed cache pages for each of the following area caches:

When you log your find at the site, please do not exchange any trade items other than those supplies that other cachers might need or find helpful. When you log your find online, make sure you make a note of anything that is in short supply.
