WE WERE WARNED...
If you have visited
‘The Tattoine Incident’ cache in
Tatton Park nearby you will obviously appreciate the implications
of what happened there on 14th February 1953. This related drive-by
cache provides further evidence of how The Dark Side has developed
The Device found on that night for more Earthly
applications.
The cache is sited where, I believe, the very first
example of an adaptation of The Device was installed for Earthly
use many years ago. This seems appropriate given it’s proximity to
the site of The Incident and the specific characteristics of the
location it serves. The Device has been through many developments
and adaptations over the years and here today you can see a more
modern example of the technology. It is much modified and improved
in comparison to the example you can still see in Tatton Park,
however the principles remain the same. The serial number
visible at the base of The Device suggests it is indeed the first
ever Earthly application of the technology and that the current
model is the third adaptation at that particular site. As is
often the case The Device is located as one of a pair, with its
partner visible a few hundred metres away but much less accessible
for close-up inspection.
Approach The Device with care. Not only are your
movements likely to be monitored by The Dark Side but it can go off
without warning and result in deeply unpleasant consequences.
Those that do visit will see a large and exceptionally threatening
green box next to The Device which makes a variety of intermittent
and sinister noises. My research indicates that this is an
Earth monitoring station which has been placed here by
The HA-HA's of Tattoine, probably on behalf of The Dark Side
. This area is clearly of exceptional importance to The Dark
Side and the whole thing makes me feel very
uneasy.
The cache is unfortunately only a micro and is situated a
few metres away from The Device itself but you can park off the
road and approach in safety for a closer inspection. I thought it
was inappropriate to place a larger container as I am still in
hiding from The Dark Side and placing a cache in this particular
location will only serve to tweak the tail of a very sinister
Force, so I do not wish to push my luck. Nevertheless, I will carry
on undaunted with my mission to make Humankind aware of the work of
The Dark Side.
Please take care when approaching
this cache and do not stop on the main carriageway under any
circumstances - make sure you pull into the 'lay-by' next to the
cache site.
Ironically, the A556 is one of the busiest trunk roads in
the UK and a quite rare example of where The Device has been used
as a force for good, before it all got a bit out of hand. There are
plans to build a by-pass around the village of Mere by means of a
motorway link between the M6 and the M56. This will hopefully
result in The Device in this particular location being assigned to
the status of historical curiosity.
If you still
aren't convinced that there are things going on that we
should be seriously bothered about, then visit
'The Tattoine
Incident: & What's Going On Here?!' Here you will see
evidence of another much larger Earth monitoring system and an
abundance of mutant creatures. I have recently adopted a
cache at
'The Tattoine Incident: The Bongs'
where there appears to be a Dark Side training facility.
Finally, the caches at the
'Tattoine Incident: Wormhole' and
'The Tattoine Incident: Wormhole Approach
Beacon' will help explain why this part of the country
seems to be of such great importance to The Dark Side. You
have every reason to be concerned.
The latest
addition to the series is
'The Tattoine Incident:
Wherigo'. This is a new interactive geocache which
has been developed using the
Wherigo system compatible with the
Garmin Colorado and most GPS enabled PDA's. The tour will
take you around the original 3 stage multi-cache and provides you
with additional information about Tatton Park and The
Incident. It culminates with an additional
bonus cache which is logable.
