Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the listed coordinates; however it is a mere three hundred and fifty-two feet away. There is plenty of parking available. The terrain is listed at 3 because of uneven ground and high grass in the summer.

Oh my is that a bench? You should know what that means. Yep, sit right down and read the story. Once the story is read I am sure you will find the cache.

During World War II Foster was a member of the VSF division. The generals and their strategists would devise the battle plans for an attack complete with rally points. These rally points were used for various reasons. In the worse case they would be fall-back positions if the battle did not go as planed. A rally point consisted of good cover, (usually pre-dug fox holes), easily identifiable landmarks (such as oddly shaped trees) and replacement equipment. It was Foster’s job to stock the rally points with weapons, ammunition and first aid supplies. You could not just set these weapons caches right out in the open. They had to be well hidden, but yet be easy and quick to recover. Also, the exact location could not be included in the battle plan. If it fell into the enemies hands the allies would not only lose valuable equipment, but restock their foe as well. The caches were usually hidden offset from the rally point. Most of the time it was a set distance at a magnetic bearing. Another method used was to mark the cache with a reflective device so it could be easily found at night.

Foster had 25 men, 2 trucks, 1 back-hoe and 5 mules at his command. Added together his team had a real bearing on the outcome of the war. If it was not for his companies contributions many of the great battles fought might have had a very different result.

Congratulations to Geojerry7 for the 1st to find!

NOTE: At certain times of the year this cache can be VERY difficult to get to. Namely you might need a boat, scuba gear or a helicopter.
