Geocache Description:

This cache was created to start a travel bug race for our local primary school.
The Brock valley is a wonderful area, frequently visited by local ramblers with a rich variety of woodland plants and wildlife

Note: The co-ords of this cache have been modified by a log entry (again) You should note that the tree cover does seem to affect GPS readings. Read the log entries. Apologies to anyone visiting and not finding

NOTE: When the Brock is in spate as it is at the moment (Oct) great care should be taken whilst reaching the caches site - the difficulty probably increases by a point or two!! The winter Brock can be a very different place to the playground one of summer. See photos.

This cache was created to start a travel bug race for our local primary school. Each year, including reception, have selected a bug and given it a mission. The school will track the travels of their bugs over the coming months.

There are 7 bugs in the cache at the time of placement, (Necky, JJ, Bananas, Scorpio, Trixie, Gemma and Puss’nBoots)

Please help the bugs on their missions and leave details of their journeys for the children to read.

Once the school bugs have moved on the cache will remain as a regular cache.

The Brock valley is a wonderful area, frequently visited by local ramblers with a rich variety of woodland plants and wildlife. Dippers, wagtails and other birds are found in the area including the occasional kingfisher. If you visit during May the ground will have the misty hue of bluebells.

Park at picnic area carpark and and walk along the river bank, using the bridge down stream.

Whilst in the area why not visit the other caches – on Beacon Feel and Fairsnape for example. (linking these and other caches can provide a very worthwhile hike or days caching in some of the best countryside in the UK)

good hunting – and enjoy the area
