Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of 3 caches around Craven Arms in Shropshire and they are designed to take you to places where there were ancient and modern trackways of one form or another. The cache is a medium sized click and lock container. It’s at the end of an easy walk over fields and stiles and through a wood with a round trip of about 3 Kms in total.

The history of this area is both fascinating and surprising so I hope you will enjoy the series.   When you find the cache there is a small information sheet inside the lid that will tell you all about the site.

There are 3 caches in the series:

Roman Woad

Flying in Stile

Wheels and Weirs

With many other caches close bye and 2 on the way to Roman Woad

Craven A

Sallow Coppice

The best place to start all of the walks to these caches is the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre.  The grid ref and waypoint are attached.  Park up there, have a look around the Centre and sally forth!

This cache is situated on the edge of a wood called Sallow Coppice.  It’s not easy to get GPS cover under the trees so best to follow the signs for the 3 woods walk.  The coordinates will take you to a wooden sign at the roads edge.  The cache is close bye but you will probably have to use the clue to find it.
