Geocache Description:

Welcome to the giant metropolis of Honea Path! The good news is that it's filled with beautiful places. The bad news is that some of those places need some work! That's why I, along with the USCGA and the SCGA, am hosting a CITO event on National CITO Day. Come one, come all!

Some of our work will take place at Bridwell Park. This park was built in honor of Mansell R. Bridwell, a councilman who faithfully served our town between 1974 and 1978. There is a nice playground and a picnic shelter available. The park is surrounded by the Honea Path Recreational Area, including the town pool, several ball fields, and tennis courts.

UPDATED 11 Apr 07 We will meet at 9:30 and pick up litter in the woods right behind the park. (Hey, I heard there was a nice little multi-cache somewhere in the park...) At about 10:00, we will leave the park to go to the town limits on Highway 252 going towards Anderson and on Highway 178 going towards Donalds. We will be picking up litter along these roads from the town limits until about 1/2 mile out. If we have more time, we will also hit Highway 76 going towards Princeton.

If you have an orange safety vest, please bring it, along with some gloves. If you want to bring trash bags, too, go right ahead. I know rasj will be bringing some "official" CITO bags. There is also the chance that we can do some grading at the rec center, so a shovel might come in handy.

And of course, we have to eat, so we'll all take a trip to the establishment attached to my Honea Path Nightlife cache (GCXEQZ) for a true Honea Path experience!

Thanks for your help! See you soon! (And if you're wondering, yes, you can come. You don't have to be a member of any organization, nor do you have to be a geocacher. Come on out anyways!)
