This is one of a set of 4 caches (3 micros and a small standard
cache) that CAN be treated separately but were placed to take the
seeker on a shortish circular walk (just under 2 miles)around an
area of watermeadows known locally as Otterspool.
It is conveniently located close to Junction 5 on the M1. I
suggest parking on a small service road running alongside the main
A41 close to the main gates to Munden House at N 51° 40.539 W 0°
22.664. While attempting these caches there are a couple of others
within very easy walking distance i.e.
Hornet's Hide 13 - (Munden View) and
Hornet's Hide 7 - Fox's Burrow
If you are coming from #3 in the series you should continue
walking past #3 for a few yards when you will meet a small lane
which will take to to the right spot. No more mud or nettles if you
follow this route!
The cache is a black APS film container and can be found just
above ground level. It contains a small log, but please bring your
own pencil.
If you have completed the trail continue past the cottage and
out onto the main road. Turn right and it's a short stroll back to
the start.
