I am archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the near future just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, your contact information is correct and you have a maintenance plan in place I'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Canoe-able cache in the middle of Whitney Pond.

Here's my story and I'm stickin' to it! I was rambling around the back streets of Camillus in our Company Truck when I saw a fella cleaning out his garage...on the front lawn under a big "For Free" sign was the usual "stuff" you find in a garage, along with a burlap sack of duck decoys and a whole pile of...AMMO BOXES!!! Most of the decoys went to my buddy Joe but I kept a few for myself. I of course horded ALL the ammo boxes (but Finn McCool and Molly managed to snag one already!), and hence you have this cache now before you!

We come here every chance we get to listen to the peeper frogs, hear the owls hoot, and just get away from it all. You find yourself so far off the "beaten path" that you won't be getting any cell phone calls in here.

It's best to park at N 43 25.605 W 75 59.564 and then it's just a short walk downhill where you can launch your "flotation device"...unless you plan on swimming there, that is!

A 4x4 is highly recommended, although we see people driving their cars up here...what an awful thing to do to your car! And of course you'll need a "flotation device", feel free to bring along a picnic too! Check out the maps and you'll see there are several good ponds in the area to paddle around in.
