Deception I - No Day at the Beach Multi-Cache

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of Deception I - No Day at the Beach to find out about the status of this cache on August 31, 2009. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

I will be more than happy to review this cache again and (hopefully) reinstate it once you have corrected any issues with the cache. please contact me via ma.reviewer@gmail.com to do so.

Geocache Description:


A multi-stage hunt with a twist or two to keep you on your toes. It's simple really, or is it? Therein lies the "deception."

After exploring all parts of Marlborough's "Desert" and beyond, this parcel which is owned by Sudbury and connects to the Desert is my favorite section of all. You’ll enjoy a nice hike or mountain bike ride along mostly level, wooded trails and you may encounter a foot bridge, an old railroad bridge, some desert sand, and most important of all, no bushwhacking is needed.

A word of caution ... Please be extra careful to restore everything you look at in the exact manner you found it.

Park at: N 42 22.564 W 71 27.316

You'll pass by Selective Availability ON (visit link) while heading to the posted coordinates. I logged that find before publishing Deception and figured one good challenge deserves another.

At the posted coords you should have little trouble finding an item I placed on the ground roughly ten feet east of the trail among some branches at the base of a tree. Completing the rest of the hunt may or may not be so easy.

The cache can be found in the snow with careful application of the instructions and any insight gained along the way, though there will be greater difficulty if there is any significant snow.

A word of caution regarding logs - In the event you are unable to find the cache, please do not offer any specific information about your troubles in your log. If you have questions, send them directly to me with an email. On the other hand, logs that add to the Deception are certainly welcome.
