An easy micro-cache to introduce the japanese style of caching in Europe, and to give japanese geocachers an excuse to visit Europe! :-) Ein einfacher Mikro-Cache, um den japanischen Caching-Stil in Europa zu präsentieren, und eine Ausrede für japanische Geocacher, mal nach Europa zu kommen... Una micro facile che serve per introdurre lo stile giapponese di geocaching anche in Europa, e per dare una scusa ai geocacher giapponesi di visitare l'Europa!
General information on the cache idea:
For New Year 2011/2012, the italian user ravestorm and the german user Schlauchen spent a two weeks holiday in Japan. After returning to Europe, the idea to hide a european-japanese geocache was born. Together with Shin.jp, the owner of many caches in Kansai area, the cooperation started. The listing and the type of cache is the same in all the three countries. The texts with touristic information about the three places to visit were written by the resident users.
Of course there was also the idea to hide a final mystery cache in Uzbekistan for everyone who visits all the three caches.... but we found another solution: Everyone who logs all the caches as “found” and was really there (signed logbook or photo-proof) will receive a chocolate bar by mail ;-) Update: Congratulations to the team ma.nina who received a Lindt chocolate on Dec 21st, 2014!.
Information on finding this cache:
This cache represents one of popular japanese styles. If you ever visit Japan, you’ll notice from the beginning on that the geocachers there are very creative. It’s rare to find a nano cache bought on a geocaching platform. You often read in logs “very creative box” or “good camo!”. If you read that in Japan, it means that you’ll probably need a while to find the box.
The type of container hidden in this series is still handmade, but a little less creative (*). (Some italian cachers will probably have seen this kind of box already) .It’s smaller than a filmbox, but bigger than a nano. For japanese cachers, this cache could be a bit boring, sorry in advance :-) .

Description:
Osaka is the biggest city in the Kansai area located in the center of Kobe, Nara, and Kyoto and it offers good connections to every kind of traffic (2 airports, Bullet Train Shinkansen stop, …) making it a perfect place to start exploring the Kansai area. High speed train network connects to each city within 30 minutes or so. Of course as many of you may know , Nara and Kyoto have a number of World Heritage sites designated by UNESCO.

Osaka is one of the oldest palace cities in Japan -- it is even older than Nara and Kyoto. The palace called “Naniwano-miya” was constructed in AD645. Osaka was a port city from ancient era and served as an important gateway for trading with foreign countries including not only mainland China but also Europe.
Thanks to the strong tradition of trading business, Osaka became particularly famous for delicious foods -- not only traditional Japanese foods but also local junk foods because both foreign and domestic merchandise are traded here. Osaka was once called “TENKA-NO-DAIDOKORO” which means “Kitchen on top of the world”.
Unlike Kyoto or Nara, Osaka was heavily bombed in WW-II therefore most of the city was reconstructed after the war. Nevertheless, there are beautiful places to visit in this city including Osaka Castle.
Osaka is also called “Aquapolis” as the city was developed around rivers and channels. Nakanoshima is a beautiful island between two rivers Tosaborigawa and Dojimagawa.
At present, there are over 500, 300, 250 caches in Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara respectively. In mostcases, one can explore each city just by hunting cache to cache. So why don’t you come and explore!!

Description: The franconian forest is an area near to the border to the Czech Republic. There are only few tourists from abroad, which prefer to visit bigger cities or Rothenburg ob der Tauber (a city in which you can find more japanese tourists than inhabitants :-) ). The region around the franconian forest is neglected without any reason, though.

It’s the perfect place for
*hiking and nature (we have a lot of forests - with a lot of geocaching trails!),
*history (the village of Mödlareuth was split in two during the separation of Germany in West and East Germany),
*culture (nearby is the city of Bayreuth, host of the world-famous Wagner-Festspiele, opera) .
* statistics for all kind of websites - as it’s near to the Czech Republic you can cache in two countries in a short time ;-)
* beer! ;-) . There are many breweries around here, and in the city of Kulmbach there's even a brewery museum. And yes, it is possible to test their products there!
Other cities for possible day-trips are Nuremberg, Dresden, Coburg, Regensburg, Würzburg and Bamberg.
The geocaching scene here is very active, you can find difficult mystery caches, trails in the forest, and various geocaches with great views.

Description: Ferrara is a city in the Po Valley and it grew, during the Renaissance period, into a cultural center thanks to the Este family. They left us the most important sights of the city that survived until nowadays and that make Ferrara an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The castle (Castello Estense, see image on the left) is a brick buildingsurrounded by a moat and used to be the residence of the Estes. Nearby the romanesque cathedral you find the jewish ghetto and many beautiful palaces.Among them there is Palazzo dei Diamanti, named after the diamond points into which the facade's stone blocks are cut, it houses the National Picture Gallery.Palazzo Schifanoia is full of frescoes. Palazzo di Ludovico il Moro houses the Archaeological Museum of the Etruscan city of Spina. All the city centre is still surrounded by the 11 kms of ancient walls (see image on the left) where you can enjoy a walk or you can go by bike. Ferrara is also famous as a city of bicycles because
the inhabitants love to use it to get around.
The seaside is only 50 kms away and the cities of Verona, Florence, Venice and Bologna are perfectly reachable in day-trip. Unesco-World-Heritage-collectors will enjoy visiting Ravenna, Modena and Padova as well. The geocaching-scene is growing quickly and you can find a variety of well-made caches here.
Allgemeine Informationen zur Cacheidee
Für Neujahr 2011/2012 waren der italienische User ravestorm und die deutsche Userin Schlauchen für zwei Wochen in Japan. Zurück in Europa, entstand die Idee, eine europäisch-japanische Kooperation zu starten. Zusammen mit Shin.jp, dem Owner vieler Caches in Kansai, startete die Zusammenarbeit. Das Listing und der Cachetyp ist in allen drei Ländern gleich. Die Texte mit den touristischen Informationeon wurden von den jeweils ansässigen Usern geschrieben.
Natürlich hatten wir auch die Idee, einen Bonuscache in Usbekistan zu verstecken… aber wir haben eine andere Lösung gefunden. Jeder, der alle drei Caches als gefunden loggt, und auch wirklich da war (Unterschrift im Logbuch oder Fotobeweis) bekommt per Post eine Tafel Schokolade ;-) . Update: Herzlichen Glückwunsch an das Team ma.nina, die am 21. Dezember 2014 eine Tafel Lindt Schokolade in Empfang nahm!
Informationen zum Finden des Caches
Der Cache ist eine typisch japanische Box. Falls du Japan einmal besuchst, wirst du sofort feststellen, dass die Cacher dort sehr kreativ sind. Man findet selten einen einfachen Nanocache von einem Geocachingshop. Oft liest man in den Logs „sehr kreative Box“ oder „good camo!“. Wenn man das in einem Listing liest, ist man vorgewarnt: Es wird wohl eine Weile dauern, die Box zu finden.
Der hier versteckte Cache ist handgemacht, aber ein bisschen weniger kreativ(*). (einige italienische User kennen diese Box vermutlich schon). Es ist kleiner als eine Filmbox, aber größer als ein Nano. Für japanische Cacher wird diese Box sehr langweilig sein, entschuldigung schon im Voraus!

Versteck: Osaka, bei Hauptbahnhof Shin-Osaka
Beschreibung: Osaka ist die größte Stadt in Kansai und liegt in der Mitte zwischen Kobe, Nara und Kyoto. Die Stadt ist sehr gut an jede Art von Verkehr angebunden und hat 2 Flughäfen und Anschluss an den Shinkansen-Zug, deswegen ist es die perfekte Ausgangsbasis, um von dort aus die Gegend von Kansai zu erkunden. Alle halbe Stunde verbinden Shinkansen-Züge Osaka mit den umliegenden Städten und Tokio.
Während deines Besuchs in Osaka solltest du auf jeden Fall auch die UNESCO-Weltkulturerbestätten Nara und Kyoto besuchen.
Osaka ist eine der ältesten Palaststädte in Japan und sogar älter als Nara und Kyoto. Der Palast namens "Naniwano-miya" wurde 645 nach Christus gebaut. Osaka ist seit der Antike eine Hafenstadt und war Handelsstützpunkt nicht nur für Verbindungen nach China, sondern auch nach Europa. Die Stadt ist besonders bekannt für die gute Küche - nicht nur traditionelle japanische Gerichte, sondern auch Schnellgerichte, da hier sehr viel international gehandelt wird. Osaka wurde einst "Tenka-no-Daidokoro" genannt, was "Küche der Welt" bedeutet. Im Gegensatz zu Kyoto und Nara wurde Osaka im 2. Weltkrieg nicht verschont, sondern stark bombardiert und nach dem Krieg neu aufgebaut. Trotz allem gibt es viele schöne Gebäude zu besichtigen, zum Beispiel das Schloss von Osaka. Osaka wird auch "Aquapolis" genannt, weil die Stadt um Flüsse und Kanale herum gebaut wurde. Nakanoshima ist die wunderschöne Insel zwischen den Flüssen Tosaborigawa und Dojimagawa.
Derzeit gibt es über 500 (Osaka), 300 (Kyoto) und 250 (Nara) Caches in der Gegend. Meistens kann man alle Gegenden Cache für Cache erkunden. Komm und cache selbst! :-)
DEUTSCHLAND

Versteck: Frankenwald
Beschreibung: Der Frankenwald befindet sich nahe der Grenze zu Tschechien. Hier gibt es nur wenig ausländische Touristen - diese bevorzugen größere Städte oder Rothenburg ob der Tauber, wo man mehr japanische Touristen als Einwohner trifft :-) . Der Frankenwald wird aber eigentlich ganz ohne Grund vernachlässigt.
Es ist der perfekte Ort für
* Wandern und Natur (hier gibt es viele Wälder - und viele Geocaching-Trails!)
* Geschichte (Das Dorf Mödlareuth war während Deutschlands Teilung wie Berlin mit einer Mauer durchtrennt)
* Kultur (in der Nähe liegt Bayreuth, die Stadt der weltberühmten Wagner-Festspiele, für Opernfreunde)
* alle möglichen Statistiken - Da der Frankenwald wie gesagt auch in der Nähe zu Tschechien liegt, kann man innerhalb kürzester Zeit in zwei Ländern cachen!
* Bier! ;-) . Es gibt viele Brauerein hier, und in Kulmbach gibt es sogar ein Brauereimuseum. Und ja, man kann dort auch die Produkte testen!
Andere Städte, die sich für Tagestrips eignen, sind Nürnberg, Dresden, Coburg, Bamberg, Regensburg und Würzburg.
Die Geocaching-Szene hier ist sehr aktiv, du kannst alles finden: Schwierige Mysterys, Tradi-Trails, und viele Caches mit einer tollen Aussicht.

Versteck: Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna
Beschreibung: Ferrara liegt im Tal des Flusses Po und dank der Familie Este wuchs die Stadt in der Renaissance zu einem bedeutenden kulturellem Zentrum. Die "Estensi" haben die meisten der vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten gebaut, die Ferrara zu einem UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe machten.
Das Schloss ist aus Ziegelsteinen gebaut und von einem Graben umgeben. Es war die Residenz der Familie Este. Nahebei findet sich die Kathedrale, das jüdische Ghetto und viele schöne Häuser. Hervorzuheben ist der "Palazzo dei Diamanti", benannt nach den Fassadensteinen, die wie Diamanten geschliffen sind. Innen befindet sich die nationale Gemäldegallerie. Der Palazzo Schifanoia ist voller Freskos, der Palazzo Ludovico il Moro beherbergt ein archäologisches Museum. Die Innenstadt ist von einer 11 Kilometer langen Stadtmauer umgeben, wo du einen Spaziergang oder eine Fahrradtour unternehmen kannst. Apropos Fahrrad: Ferrara wird auch die "Stadt der Fahrräder" genannt.
Das Meer ist nur 50km entfernt, und Verona, Florenz, Venedig und Bologna lassen sich leicht mit dem Zug an einem Tag besichtigen. Unesco-Welterbe-"Sammler" werden sicherlich auch Ravenna und Modena besuchen.
