Krieg in Malters [DE/EN] Traditional Cache

Kriegerische Ereignisse in Malters:

In den Freischarenzügen von 1844/45, die den Sturz der Luzerner Regierung zum Ziel hatten, war Malters in der Nacht zum 31. März 1845 Schauplatz eines blutigen Gefechts. Als die Aargauer, Baselbieter und Berner Freischaren in ungeordneten Haufen von Luzern her flüchteten, wurden sie von den Luzerner Truppen und vom einheimischen Landsturm beim Gashof Kloster mit einem in die Strasse gestellten Heuwagen gestoppt.
Danach entwickelte sich auf dem Vorplatz sowie im östlichen Dorfbereich ein stundenlanges Gefecht unter Einsatz von Artillerie (Einschusslöcher sind im Gasthof Klösterli heute noch zu sehen). 25 Freischaren fielen, 26 wurden verwundet und 470 Freischärler wurden gefangen genommen.

Acts of war in Malters:

During the "Freischarenzüge" (a revolution) of 1844/45 with the goal to topple the administration of the canton of Lucerne, Malters was the location of a bloody combat in the night to March 31st 1845. As the people from the cantons of Aargau, Basel-Land and Bern escaped from Lucerne, they have been stopped by the forces of Lucerne at the restaurant Kloster by a hay wagon placed in the street.
Thus, a combat developed on the fore court and in the east of the village going on for hours and using artillery (bullet holes can be seen in the restaurant Klösterli still today). 25 soldiers died, 26 where wounded and 470 have been arrested.

Zum Cache:

Dieser Cache liegt am Anfang einer langen Strasse zu einem schönen Badeplatz. Um im Sommer nicht von den dortigen Bade-Muggels beobachtet zu werden, und euch die Anfahrt etwas zu verkürzen, liegt er etwas näher zum Dorf.
Wenn du aber in der warmen Jahreszeit kommst, empfehle ich dir, die Badesachen einzupacken, der Strasse bis ganz ans Ende weiter zu folgen und dort die Seele baumeln zu lassen.

The Cache:

This Cache lies at the beginning of a long road to a nice bathing place. For not getting observed by the bathing muggles and to shorten you your approach, it lies a bit closer to the village.
But if you're coming in the warm season, I recommend you, to take along your swim suit, follow the road all the way to its end, and just enjoy yourself at this place there.
