Geocache Description:

One of Shakespeare's comedians, Falstaff was a mischievous and bawdy character, he lacked honor and was a bad influence on those around him. A fitting name for this spiteful cache.

Firstly you need to understand that this peninsula is 45km from home for us. I know that it's further for a lot of you, but bear with me for a minute.

A long time ago Sarah and I went for an extended stroll around the rolling fields of Shakespear Regional Park. It was good. Make no mistake. But it's big. Very big. And hilly. Let's say it's not ideal terrain for someone with my special physique. Not even close.

But I digress.

We went for a stroll. We went back for another stroll. Then I bought some junk off some joker using Trademe and they lived there. By now I had just about had my fill of Whangaparaoa for a while then someone tricked us into going there with a cache that you really wouldn't expect to find there.

When this cache showed up we thought we'd wait a while and see what else happened, sure enough others started to appear. Finally there were enough annoying blips on the screen to make the trip, hangover and all. It was this puzzle that finally persuaded us to get even though.

The rest of you who waited did the right thing, because we've just done our bit to maximize the pull of this far flung section of grassland.

Wondering if this cache has any redeeming features at all? Wonder no longer friends. It has none.

For anyone wondering, the ARC has an excellent brochure called "Auckland Regional Council Northern Parks" that explains the apparent miss-spelling of our literary leaders name. It's actually a great publication. It's free, covers Shakespear, Wenderholm, Tawharanui and Mahurangi parks, and is available from your local I centre.

More importantly though, look at this log to find out what those odd buildings are all about. Thanks Tufty.
