Geocache Description:

PLEASE DO NOT LOOK FOR THIS CACHE UNTIL FRIDAY APRIL 28TH AT 6PM!

GAG8 Drive-by Micro Orchardview

Surprisingly, there were no geocaches located in the entire Greely-Manotick Station area. I figured it was time to remedy this situation. The cache is located adjacent to the parking area of the Orchardview Reception Centre. The centre was built by the late Tony Princiotta as part of a wildlife reserve inside his Orchardview subdivision. Although privately owned, the centre is open year-round for parties and events. Be sure to stop and look at the llamas and red deer in the reserve area on your way in or out. Please do not go beyond any of the signs marking the private laneways in the area.

This series was placed in early March 2006 before GAG8 was even announced.  For cachers-on-the-go, it has been set up to allow quick and easy access to each cache site. You can literally park within 10 feet of every cache, however there is no guarantee the parking spot closest to the cache is always available!  All of these caches are stroller friendly, and most are wheelchair friendly. I was able to hide one of the caches without even getting out of my car! Parents of babies and small children who like to sleep in the car will especially like this series since you can keep an eye on them as you search for the cache. Originally I was going to give hints, but I decided not to so as not to make the series boring. Each cache container is a 35mm film canister containing a single mylar scroll. The mylar (plastic) is waterproof and matte on one side. Bring a pencil to sign in. Pen will work too, but not as well.  Here are the rest in the series:
