Geocache Description:

Dark Poodle

City Geopainting Lost Area Cache

Here we go again - even moving location of our household did not help getting away from the man in dark. The usual nice weekend morning and the doorbell rings. Well, at our new location we are much more sophisticated and there is a camera activated if you ring the bell and we can see who is outside. This is what we thought would be the idea behind all this technology. But we could not see anybody and as we have nice neighbours it was none of their kids either ringing the bell. So I went down too see what was outside and to my very surprise there was this nice kuddly dark poodle looking up to me (with a smile?).
I looked left and right to see if someone in a dark suit or wearing dark glasses would be around, but could not see anyone (surprise number 2).

It seemed as he was inviting me for a walk. Cautious as I am (by now), I quickly grabbed a navigation device to track our walk - just in case (I might get lost and would help need to send for help ...).
And off we went from the parking along the motorway. The following text came to my mind (given the nice surroundings - but certainly not the motorway):

Osterspaziergang
Vom Eise befreit sind Strom und Bäche
Durch des Frühlings holden, belebenden Blick;
Im Tale grünet Hoffnungsglück;
Der alte Winter, in seiner Schwäche,
Zog sich in raue Berge zurück.
Von dorther sendet er, fliehend, nur
Ohnmächtige Schauer körnigen Eises
In Streifen über die grünende Flur;
Aber die Sonne duldet kein Weißes,
Überall regt sich Bildung und Streben,
Alles will sie mit Farben beleben;
Doch an Blumen fehlt's im Revier,
Sie nimmt geputzte Menschen dafür.
Kehre dich um, von diesen Höhen
Nach der Stadt zurückzusehen.
Aus dem hohlen, finstern Tor
Dringt ein buntes Gewimmel hervor.
Jeder sonnt sich heute so gern.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
aus: Faust I, Vor dem Tor

I guess the dark poodle knows this text quite well too ...

So we followed the highway, along the ADEPS sport center (no tree climbing allowed in there either), passing several Os in support of wheel based transport facilities until we reached the nice green bird nesting boxes on poles.
Actually, we turned left at the "street" earlier (and not at the yellow sign either).
We admired the red and green colours on the house number 7 until we arrived at the playground.
But we turned towards the parking. Arriving at the street with the strangely (and unnaturally) shaped trees we turned towards the cherry tree and followed the one-way sign.
The dark poodle was happy to use the facilities provided for his kind there.
At the sign with the two Os we turned towards the next cherry tree and followed again the one-way sign (in our back).
At the (former sailing boat that has become a) dark horse we turned left and kept right towards the one-way sign in the distance.
I was getting worried that this might become a one-way trip/road to hell. However, at the sign we did not go to its cousin on the other side of the street but turned right to investigate this dark underground facility. In front of its entry the poodle felt very uncomfortable as somebody was watching from behind and above.
The dark poodle quickly continued keeping the trees on our right side. We followed again the sign with the Os (its blue version - not one of the many red ones there).
Crossing the street and turning uphill the dark poodle did not like the establishment on our right either and went straight home (surprise number 3).
This was at the next crossing. It seems that he has been liberated for X years already (according to the inscription opposite of his house).
Before entering the dark poodle barked at the cats watching him from across the street and made them disappear (so that you cannot see them anymore now).

I was left alone in front of this establishment that I would never dare to enter given its FORMER name and the experience I just made.
Still I was wondering what this all was about and where the "usual man in dark" had been all along?
Certainly one of them must have been around, but where?
When Heading home I looked at the map of my navigation device and the trail of the walk we just had made.

And there it was - clearly visible on the screen!
We had been watched all the time by the man in dark!

What do you see on the screen? abcd efbgghg

So what was this all about then?
Ah yes! A treasure - for what other reason one would have gone through all of this?

Please bring your own pen!
Thanks a lot for putting everything nicely back again.
