This cache is the first of four geocaches, commemorating a
CITO event held on April 22nd (Earth Day), 2006
Cache is hidden at the above posted coordinates, and you have been
given a waypoint below to bring you to a path, leading you into the
cache site. The Geocache has typical trading items, and there is a
nice envelope for the First-to-Finder. There are also several film
cannisters with garbage bags inside. Take these and do a clean-up.
At the site if you choose, or at another site - your choice.
Consider them a portable "CITO kit". This area and its nearby
neighbour, detailed below, is listed on both the Take Pride
Winnipeg, and City of Winnipeg's "most dirty areas" list. So let's
have at it! The second waypoint, below, leads you to the really
awful area, along both sides of a drainage ditch. Our CITO team
worked so hard on the area near the cache, that they weren't able
to get to this part. So please, if you're in the neighbourhood, and
willing, take a shot at it. Nailed to trees in the cache zone for
the duration of this weekend, there are small coloured wires. This
was part of the original game, and you are free to collect them for
posterity if you choose. They will be removed soon.
